Furloughs avoided, increased funding possible.

The House Budget Committee has agreed to increase SSA's budget above and beyond the White House budget proposal and this will help address backlogs in CDRs and SSI redeterminations. AFGE Council 220 President Witold Skwierczynski has thanked the Committee for recognizing that Social Security needs additional funding to manage its work loads. He also reminded the Committee that significant FTE reductions have occurred during the last three years, mostly affecting the Field.

AFGE members can take pride in knowing that our lobbying efforts have paid off; but we will still need to follow-up with the Appropriations Committee.

Performance Appraisal System is in place
