SSA Begins Badging

Folks,

I have received a number of inquiries about the badging process, which has begun.

The MOU was negotiated last November and distributed.  I am resending in the event you did not receive the email.

This MOU covers the badging of the employees and access to facilities.   The agency was not prepared to negotiate "logical" access, which means the badge must be swiped to use the agency computer.  "Logical" access bargaining will be done at a later date.  The badge will contain the following information:

• Name
• Color code for type of agency affiliation
• Agency
• Individual’s photograph
• Two fingerprints
• Approved access levels
• Facility code information
• Badge number
   

NO other information can be stored on this card.  This includes the employees SSN, medical or personnel records, or a gps system. 

This badge does not create nor can it be used as a time and attendance tool.
